The large-scale integration of renewable energy sources (RESs) has become one the most challenging topics in smart grids. Indeed, such an been causing significant grid stability issues (voltage and frequency control) due to dependency RESs on meteorological conditions. To this end, their must be accompanied by alternative attenuate power fluctuations. Energy storage systems (ESSs) can provide flexibility mitigating local peaks/drops load demands/renewable generation. Therefore, development management strategies (EMSs) attracting considerable attention generated from associated with that which is stored/provided ESSs. Then, optimization EMS leads substantial savings operation maintenance correct decisions for future. This study presents optimized a wind farm, coupled pumped hydro system (PHES). proposed day-ahead consists two stages, namely forecasting stages. module responsible predicting generation demand. A random forest (RF) method used perform after extraction weather data features using kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) technique. nonlinear programming (NLP)-based technique define optimal PHES. purpose maximize profit cost horizon, taking into consideration constraints.
